Saints Vs. 49ers: Fourth New Orleans Turnover Doesn’t Help San Francisco

The San Francisco 49ers have 10 points off four Saints turnovers in the first half of their NFC Division Round showdown on this Saturday. And it's that they have so few that is problematic for the Niners, who are holding a 17-14 lead despite an ineffective offense.

SI.com: Saints-49ers live boxscore

The Niners got their fourth turnover on an interception by Tarell Brown in the second quarter of the game, but another conservative drive and inaccurate passing from Alex Smith scuttled San Fran's chances of making points out of it. The Niners' pass game, on plays other than the one in which Smith found Vernon Davis for a 49-yard touchdown pass, has produced just 81 yards on 19 attempts.
