VIDEO: Darren Sproles’ Punt Return Fumble Sets Up Niners Field Goal

The San Francisco 49ers' offense appears to have much improved since the first half against the New Orleans Saints. Now the Niners can get a single first down, fail to pick up another, and move into Saints territory by punting and recovering a fumble on the punt!

Witness the glory that is Andy Lee punting a ball 70 yards in the air, followed by a fumble from Darren Sproles that gives the Saints five turnovers on the day.

That gives the Niners a +4 turnover margin, which one might reasonably assume would be enough for a lead beyond three points. Alas, the San Francisco offense has been limited all day, and could only get a field goal out of the drive after this fumble, leaving Niners faithful to hope not only for turnovers, but for ones that give them the ball in field goal range.
