Saints Vs. 49ers: San Francisco Executes Rare Double Offensive Pass Interference Drive

The San Francisco 49ers' offense is verging on unwatchable in a game against one of the most explosive offenses in NFL history. But, hey, it's not the Saints doing rare and magical things like getting flagged for offensive pass interference on consecutive plays.

That was the 49ers' achievement on their fourth drive of the second half, which lasted four plays and actually started with a big play: Alex Smith found Bruce Miller, who rumbled 31 yards for the longest 49ers gain of the second half.

But after a Kendall Hunter run for no gain, the Niners decided to run a play that involved a pick to get a wide receiver open on the sideline. On the first attempt at that play, Ted Ginn blew up Jabari Greer, got flagged, and apparently got injured; he left the field under his own power.

On the second attempt, on third down, Kyle Williams bowled over another Saints defender, and drew another yellow flag.

The Saints declined both penalties, deciding to save the world from having to watch the Niners offense try to pick up more than a second or third and 10. That was smart and kind of them.
