Jerome Simpson Indicted With Trafficking Marijuana

News dropped earlier this season that Cincinnati Bengals receiver Jerome Simpson was under investigation after authorities tracked a package containing 2.5 pounds of marijuana from California to Simpson's Kentucky home, where more marijuana was discovered. Authorities believed at the time the house could be a potential distribution network for the drugs.

Simpson has now been indicted by the Kenton Country Grand Jury for trafficking marijuana, which is a Class D felony, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. The allegations could land Simpson in prison for 1-5 years.

Present at the time the marijuana was initially discovered was Bengals offensive tackle Anthony Collins. He was not indicted and was not part of the investigation.

Simpson is a free-agent-to-be and finished the season with 50 receptions for 725 yards and four touchdowns. As SB Nation’s Cincy Jungle points out, Simpson may not be back in Cincinnati after this. The Bengals have had their fair share of perception problems with players on their breaking the law and we wouldn’t be surprised to see them move on after this one.
