San Francisco 49ers cornerback Carlos Rogers is set to hit the market once free agency gets going on March 13. If he has his way, he won't be going anywhere, however. Rogers spoke with media on Monday, saying that he hopes that 49ers will sign him for a long term contract.

The 30-year-old Rogers has reached the age where players typically begin thinking more about winning championships and less about scoring a big payday. He indicated that he would be willing to accept a discounted salary to stay in San Francisco. He may have to, as the 49ers may not have the cap space to match the highest bid out of 31 other teams in the league.

Though he struggled to cover Victor Cruz in the first half of Sunday's NFC Championship Game, Rogers was a stalwart throughout the 2011-12 season in a secondary that held opponents to a 73.6 passer rating throughout the regular season, the fifth lowest average in the league.
