Detroit Lions rookie offensive lineman Johnny Culbreath was arrested on Monday and charged with possession of marijuana, according to Richard Walker of the Times and Democrat.
Lions’ Johnny Culbreath Arrested For Marijuana Possession
Johnny Culbreath of the Detroit Lions was arrested at a hotel in Orangeburg, South Carolina on Monday for possession of marijuana. He was able to pay a fine to close the case.


At 10 a.m., police were contact by a hotel clerk at a Country Inn and Suites in Orangeburg, South Carolina. According to the police report, there was a complaint that someone on the fourth floor was using marijuana. When the police arrived, they found 23-year-old Culbreath coming out of his room and smelling of marijuana. He was found in possession of a small plastic bag with “plant material” inside.
Later on Monday, Culbreath went before a Orangeburg County Magistrate and paid a $412 fine to close the case. Culbreath had no comment when contacted by the Times and Democrat on Tuesday. The Detroit Lions have not yet commented on Culbreath’s status with the team.
Culbreath was a seventh-round draft pick for the Lions in 2011 and was placed on injured reserve by the team in September.
