Jim Caldwell Reportedly Joining Baltimore Ravens

The Baltimore Ravens will reportedly hire former Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell as an offensive assistant.

Former Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell was recently fired, but it didn't take him too long to find new work. Caldwell will take a position with the Baltimore Ravens as an offensive assistant, according to a report by Adam Schefter of ESPN. Caldwell took over as the Colts head coach in 2009 after Tony Dungy retired. Prior to being the Colts head coach, Caldwell spent the previous seven seasons as the Colts quarterbacks coach and assistant head coach. Caldwell made one Super Bowl as head coach of the Colts in his first season, losing to the New Orleans Saints.

Caldwell had also interviewed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are looking to replace offensive coordinator Bruce Arians, but ultimately decided on joining the Ravens according to Schefter's report. Caldwell has extensive experience in the NFL as an offensive coach, especially as a quarterbacks coach. His official duties with the Ravens have not been released, but it's thought that he will work with quarterback Joe Flacco.
