Jeff Fisher Being Pursued Hard By Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins coaching search has included a few names here and there but the one gaining the most traction is Jeff Fisher, the former Tennessee Titans coach. Fisher is essentially a free agent and he will be interviewing with multiple teams.

Following his interview in Miami earlier this week, the Miami Herald reported that the Dolphins will not be outbid by any other team for Fisher’s services.

And the Dolphins are intent on not being outbid financially for Fisher. [Dolphins owner Steve] Ross has the deep pockets necessary to pay what he must to hire Fisher and he apparently does not want to be seen as incapable of landing the most prized coach on the market -- at least not as a result of being outbid.

But...it’s a two-way street. Fisher has plenty of options and he’ll have to want the Dolphins as much as they want him. One of the things Fisher was looking for was the presence of a good young quarterback. A place like St. Louis has that, while Miami doesn’t.

Either way, the Dolphins insistence that they won't be outbid sounds a little desperate to me. Like they're already trying to brace the fans for Fisher going elsewhere. Who knows...maybe they end up getting him but I think the Rams job might be more attractive to him.

We shall see where Fisher decides sometime soon. In the meantime, check out SB Nation’s The Phinsider for more on the Dolphins.
