AFC Wild Card 2012: Bengals QB Andy Dalton Expected To Play Despite Illness

The Cincinnati Bengals are preparing to play the Houston Texans in the Wild Card round of the 2012 NFL playoffs and they received a scare when QB Andy Dalton was hospitalized on Wednesday with an illness.

Worry no more, Bengals fans: Dalton is fine.

He tells Geoff Hobson of the Bengals official sitethat it was just a 24-hour bug, he feels fine now and he will practice on Thursday. That’s good news for the Bengals considering Dalton has been one of the keys to their success this year.

The Bengals QB was staying “close to the sink and toilet” when he was sick on Wednesday, which lead to him being hospitalized for flu-like symptoms.

The loss of Dalton would have been devastating to the Bengals but it sounds like they won’t have to worry about much. The game is on Saturday, according to the NFL playoffs schedule, which means Dalton will have had three days to rest up from whatever ailed him.
