When Mike Mayock talks, people listen. As an analyst with the NFL Network, Mayock has endeared himself with fans and insiders alike with his no nonsense approach and spot-on takes on players and the game. It's notable, then, that Mayock called Cincinnati Bengals rookie wide receiver A.J. Green "one of the top ten receivers in the league."

Mayock discussed Green and his matchup with Houston Texans cornerback Johnathan Joseph in an interview that appeared on the Bengals' website. Mayock predicted a bright future for Green, one that would put in some very elite company.
I think (Green) is already one of the top ten receivers in the league and in the next year or two he'll be mentioned with Calvin Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald and Andre Johnson. That's the kind of ability he has.
Green led all rookie receivers this season with 1,057 receiving yards on 65 catches, also the top mark among rookies. His seven receiving touchdowns ranked second among rookies, bested only by Julio Jones of the Falcons who had eight.
Green is the first rookie receiver with more than 1,000 receiving yards since Marques Colston in 2006.
Mayock started calling games on the NFL Network this season, but he makes the jump to broadcast networks for the playoffs. He’ll be in the booth for the Bengals Vs. Texans on NBC this Saturday.
