Reggie McKenzie Officially Becomes Oakland Raiders New GM

The Oakland Raiders have made it official: Reggie McKenzie is the team's new general manager. McKenzie, a former NFL player, has been in the Green Bay Packers front office since 1994. He held the title of Director of Football Operations in Green Bay.

McKenzie is one of the top names in this year’s GM hiring cycle. He’s spent the last 17 years in Green Bay working with a lot of successful people, including Ron Wolf. The former Packers GM has ties with the Raiders and likely gave the Raiders a strong recommendation for McKenzie.

The Raiders are now moving to a more traditional front office with a general manager, a role previously assumed by the late Al Davis.

McKenzie will join the Raiders at the conclusion of the Packers playoff run (which may not come until February).
