Steelers Vs. Broncos: Brady Quinn Denies Taking First Team Snaps Over Tim Tebow, According To Report

Tired of Tim Tebow speculation and controversy? Get ready for more. Mike Florio at Pro Football Talk reported on Friday that backup Brady Quinn has been taking roughly 50 percent of the Denver Broncos' first-team snaps in practice this week. Quinn denied the report in a text message to NFL.com, however, saying that his regimen hasn't changed. Tebow went 6-for-22 passing with a pick against the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 17, prompting rumors that a quarterback switch could be in store for Sunday's AFC Wild Card matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Tebow beat out Quinn for the Broncos' starting job after the Broncos decided to bench Kyle Orton in October. He promptly led the Broncos on a six-game winning streak that stretched from Halloween through December, putting Denver back in the playoff picture following a 1-4 start. Tebow didn't exactly set the world on fire statistically, however, and he struggled in his last three games of the season, resulting in three consecutive losses for the Broncos heading into Sunday's showdown.

Quinn has not thrown a pass in a regular season game since starting nine games for the Cleveland Browns during the 2009 season. While Tebow has had his ups and downs, Quinn shouldn’t inspire a ton of confidence from Broncos fans either should he see the field.
