Bengals Vs. Texans Score, AFC Wild Card: Cincinnati Strikes First On The Road

It would probably be wise for the Cincinnati Bengals, a team starting a rookie quarterback on the road in the NFL playoffs, to get off to a strong start against the Houston Texans. So far in their AFC Wild Card game, the Bengals are making that happen, and lead 7-0.

Cincinnati got a couple of yards on a run up the middle by Cedric Benson, then moved deep into Houston territory on a 52-yard pass interference penalty on this play-action pass from Andy Dalton to A.J. Green.

Another run by Benson and an incomplete pass to Green put the Bengals in a third-and-long situation, but a screen pass to Brian Leonard set them up with goal to go.

Offensive coordinator Jay Gruden then got the right call for Benson, who ran off tackle to the left untouched for a touchdown. After the Mike Nugent extra point, Cincinnati took the first lead of the game at 7-0.
