Alameda Ta’amu, NFL Draft 2012: Steelers, Ravens Among Potential Teams For Washington DT

The rumors, mock drafts and speculation are already flying fast and furious in anticipation of the 2012 NFL Draft. The draft is still months away, but the class of 2012 is stacked and the possibilities remain intriguing.

One of the notables in the draft is Alameda Ta'amu of the Washington Huskies. The 6'3", 330-pound defensive tackle was a team captain in 2011 and started all 13 games at the same DT spot. His durability and consistent performance led to him being named the school's Rising Defensive Lineman of the year.

Ta'amu is ranked by Mocking the Draft as the No. 27 overall talent in the 2012 NFL Draft, and the third-best available defensive tackle. The 27th pick in the draft belongs to the Pittsburgh Steelers, who seem to be more focused on improving their offensive line. The No. 28 pick in the draft belongs to the Baltimore Ravens, who have always been a defensively-minded team and are beginning to look toward building an offense for their future.
