Falcons Vs. Giants, NFC Wild Card: Second Punt Comes Early For New York
Ahmad Bradshaw's first carry of the day was no better than Brandon Jacobs': he, too, had nowhere to go, and ran into the line for no gain. But, even worse for the Giants, John Abraham got around the right tackle and brought Eli Manning down for a sack on second down, putting them in their second straight third-and-long situation.
Just as in the last one, the Giants completed a pass short of the sticks: Manning found D.J. Ware on a screen pass, but Ware came up a few yards shy of a first down, despite a hold by David Diehl that the Falcons declined, and the Giants were forced to punt.
