Falcons Vs. Giants, 2012 NFL Playoffs: NFC Wild Card Game Is Punt-Off

We have progress in the 2012 NFC Wild Card game between the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons: the Giants have gotten a first down.

The Giants got their first first down of the day on a play-action bootleg from Eli Manning to Jake Ballard on the first play of their third offensive drive, but went back to their conservative ways on offense shortly after, even running off tackle on a third and long. Stunningly, New York did not pick up that first down.

The nice part of that third Giants drive? Steve Weatherford, New York's punter, deposited a kick out of bounds at Atlanta's 9. The Giants are, at least, winning the field position battle.

SB Nation’s NFL bloggers made predictions for Wild Card weekend and here’s a look at the updated NFL playoffs schedule for Sunday. Check out Big Blue View for the latest on the Giants and The Falcoholic for the latest on the Falcons.
