ANIMATED: Tim Tebow’s Facemask Wrenched By LaMarr Woodley, But No Penalty

Tim Tebow's rise as an NFL quarterback has had more than its fair share of controversies, and will certainly have more in the near future, after Denver's stirring 29-23 overtime win over the Pittsburgh Steelers in a AFC Wild Card game. One of the less-covered ones: whether Tebow gets officiated differently from most players, or even most quarterbacks, because of his size and mobility. Tebow's repeatedly called for penalties for defenders grabbing his facemask — and he might have a point about this call from the fourth quarter of the game.

That's LaMarr Woodley jabbing out an arm to stop Tebow and seemingly taking hold of Tebow's facemask. No penalty flag came out, though, and the Broncos ended up punting on the drive.

It’s not the first time that’s happened to Tebow this year, either; here’s video from Week 17.

While the no-call ultimately didn’t matter — Tebow’s touchdown pass to Demaryius Thomas in overtime won the game for the Broncos — it could have affected the outcome, and you can be sure that the Broncos will try to make it a point of emphasis for their AFC Divisional round game against the New England Patriots.

Here's a look at the updated NFL playoffs schedule for Sunday. Check out Behind the Steel Curtain for the latest on the Steelers and Mile High Report for the latest on the Broncos.
