Jay Cutler’s arm on display with TD pass to Devin Hester

Jay Cutler’s big arm went deep to Devin Hester in this beautiful play.

Jay Cutler put his arm strength on display with a 34-yard touchdown pass to Devin Hester in the third quarter of the Bears-Cowboys game. Cutler moved around in the pocket and from his back foot you see a flick of the wrist and the ball goes flying, right into the outstretched hands of Hester.

But did he make the catch? I say yes because he seems to maintain control of the ball throughout. It doesn’t rattle when it hits the ground. All scoring plays are reviewed so the officials took a second look and confirmed it was a touchdown.

Not completely pictured: Hester completely juking Morris Claiborne. The Bears receiver ran a stop-and-go and by the time he made his cut up field he was already more than a yard ahead of Claiborne.

That play right there shows you why some picked the Bears to go to the Super Bowl before this season. Cutler's arm is so good and Hester's so explosive. Of course, it doesn't always work out like that. But that's the idea in Chicago.
