Bears blow through Dallas on Monday Night Football

The crowd stood when Judge Jerry walked into the room, angry but still respectful of the court. They sat as soon as he took his place, the rumble getting just a little louder in the moment between being seated and called to order.

Five interceptions, two of them returned for touchdowns by the Chicago defense ... on Monday Night Football. The Blue Star had been tarnished, sullied by a bunch of North Shore elitists. Cowboys fans seethed. They suffered through the indignity of Rick Perry on the national stage, but the state’s only quarterback that matters throwing five interceptions in primetime was another matter entirely.

Said afterwards by Tony Romo, “Hey, at least it wasn’t a pick!”

He’ll never be the same Rob Ryan with that short hair. Almost as if the mane of a lion has been shaved.

But did he make the catch? I say yes because he seems to maintain control of the ball throughout. It doesn’t rattle when it hits the ground. All scoring plays are reviewed so the officials took a second look and confirmed it was a touchdown.

A bullet like that clearly warrants the finger guns:

For those that don’t know, Josey Wales (played by Clint Eastwood) was a farmer on the run from Union soldiers after the Civil War and as you can imagine there is a “gunslinger” reference in there that is potentially a term used for Jay Cutler once.

You get the idea.

Carter, a former first-round pick, has played a key role for the Cowboys this season, racking up 20 tackles through the first three games. While Carter is questionable to return, he is back on the sideline jogging and riding a stationary bike according to a report from Tom Orsborn of the San Antonio Express.

Without Carter, the Cowboys could utilize their dime defense more in passing situations. In addition to his 20 tackles this season, Carter also has two tackles for a loss and one pass deflection.

Forte’s return is big news for the Bears, as the team obviously looks better with one of its primary playmakers on the field. The running back has battled a lot of injuries over the past year, but he’s active and playing on Monday after sitting out last week.

Before suffering the injury, Forte had carried 23 times for 111 yards and a touchdown. The running back has also caught seven passes for 89 yards thus far in 2012.

The Bears and Cowboys, who are both 2-1 on the season, kick off at 8:30 p.m. ET from Cowboy Stadium. The Monday Night Football game can be seen on ESPN.

Cutler, who is completing just more than 50 percent of his passes, has targeted Brandon Marshall often, as Marshall leads the team in receptions (16) and receiving yards (214).

The total points scored for the Monday showdown opened at a combined 45.0 points. Since then, however, various books have moved the down to anywhere from 42 to 41 points, hinting that there has been heavy action on the under as opposed ot the over.
