Rex Ryan is not favored to be the first NFL coach fired in 2012, but the fact he makes the list means the injury situation and Tim Tebow situation continues to make news for the New York Jets.
Chan Gailey leads odds on first NFL coach to be fired
Chan Gailey and Pat Shurmur could both be gone by Monday, making them obvious choices on the first NFL coach to be fired odds list. But is Rex Ryan really in trouble with the Jets? Oddsmakers say yes.

Ryan is 7/1 to be the first coach fired, according to the nfl team props at Bovada.lv.
Interestingly, a second prop was added asking if Ryan would be the Jets coach in Week 17 and the ‘no’ answer is favored.
“We feel that there is a better chance that he does not make the end of the season, but he may have a little more time to try and salvage his job than Chan Gailey and Pat Shurmur do,” said Kevin Bradley of Bovada. “Those two may be fired after this week unless something good happens.”
He is favored to NOT be the Jets head coach by Week 17, with the ‘no’ bet a -140 favorite.
Gailey’s Bills are 2-3 and he is just 12-25 since taking over as Buffalo’s head coach. With another blowout loss possible at Arizona this week, he could be gone. He’s the 2/3 favorite to get sacked first.
The Bills have given up 145 points in their three losses and the city continues to pine for the stability that Marv Levy provided in the 1980s and 1990s. They also had some players like Jim Kelly and Bruce Smith that helped provide that stability.
Shurmur in Cleveland is close behind at 7/4 on the first NFL coach to be fired odds list. At 0-5, the Browns need a reasonable home effort against Cincinnati to save his job. Shurmur is 4-17 as Cleveland’s head coach.
Sexy Rexy is 7/1 on this list, a victim of high expectations, poor play from Mark Sanchez, a slew of injuries and never-ending Tim Tebow drama.
Romeo Crennel and Mike Munchak are No. 3 and No. 4 on the firing line list. Munchak’s Titans have given up 30 or more points in their first five games, an NFL record. If they get blown out by the injury-riddled Steelers Thursday, he could be done. Pitt is favored by 5 points at most shops tracked by OddsShark.com.
