KC’s Quinn to start over Cassel in Week 8
Set to make his second straight start for the Chiefs, the 27-year-old Quinn completed 22-of-38 passes for 180 yards and two interceptions against the Bucs, but may still have a viable shot to stay on the field if he can put forth a big effort against the Raiders. Cassel’s unfortunate concussion clearly opened the door for the former first-round pick to get a crack at the job, although he will need to fare much better than he did in Week 6 to have any chance at unseating Cassel long term.

The team has stated since the injury, according to Arrowhead Pride’s report above, that they would be moving forward cautiously in regards to Cassel’s return to the field. Those fans are frustrated by Cassel’s lack of production for the 1-4 Chiefs. The quarterback has struggled to a 66.2 rating with five touchdowns, nine picks and a 58.5 completion percentage.
The Chiefs visit the Bucs at 1 p.m. Sunday.
