Hakeem Nicks in pads for Thursday’s practice: Fantasy implications

New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks (knee) was in pads for Thursday’s practice and participated in individual drills. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jim O’Connor-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks was in pads for practice on Thursday and participated in individual drills. Nicks has missed the last three games for the Giants because of swelling in his knee. Domenik Hixon and Ramses Barden have both started in place of Nicks. New York faces the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday.

Fantasy Impact: It’s encouraging that Nicks is back at practice but fantasy owners will want to wait for updates. He has missed a lot of time, although coach Tom Coughlin had said he thought Nicks would be able to practice some this week. Hixon has more fantasy value than Barden, but both would drop if Nicks returns on Sunday. Nicks should be considered a No. 2/3 fantasy wide receiver against the 49ers.
