Hakeem Nicks injury: Giants WR returns to practice

Hakeem Nicks returned to practice on Thursday morning by participating in individual drills.

New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks returned to the practice field on Thursday and was able to participate in individual drills. Nicks has been unable to practice since the week leading up to Week 4's contest against the Philadelphia Eagles due to lingering issues with his knee and surgically-repaired foot.

Nicks was seen lined up for walk-throughs and fully participated in individual exercises, according to Jenny Vrentas of NewJersey.com. As of this time, his availability for Sunday's matchup with the San Francisco 49ers is unknown, but the extent to which he participates in team drills later on Thursday should give a better indication of whether he will attempt to play or sit out one more week.

The 24-year-old wide receiver last played in Week 2 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in which he registered 10 receptions for 199 yards and one touchdown. Nicks also managed to re-aggravate his knee and foot injuries in the process.
