Hakeem Nicks injury: Giants WR will not practice Wednesday

New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks will not practice Wednesday as injuries to his right foot and left knee are still bothering him.

New York Giants wide receiver Hakeem Nicks will not practice on Wednesday. Nicks has missed the Giants last two games with injuries to his right foot and left knee. He has been experiencing soreness in his right foot that underwent surgery in the offseason, as well as swelling in his left knee.

Giants coach Tom Coughlin said Nicks looked better walking around, but his status for Thursday's practice was still unknown. Nicks banged up both the foot and the knee in the team's Week 2 41-34 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In that game Nicks caught 10 passes for 199 yards and a touchdown.

The Giants don't know if they will have Nicks back for their Oct. 7 game with the Cleveland Browns. In his absence other New York receivers have been stepping up. Ramses Barden had a strong game against the Panthers in Week 3 and Domenik Hixon played well in the Giants' Week 4 loss to the Eagles.
