Ryan Mathews is expected to return to the starting lineup when the San Diego Chargers play the Denver Broncos in Week 6, according to the San Diego Union-Tribune. Mathews came back from a broken clavicle in Week 3, but Jackie Battle has been the first running back on the field since while Mathews shook off rust and proved he could hold onto the football.
Ryan Mathews back in starting lineup for Chargers, and for fantasy owners
Ryan Mathews is expected to be back in the starting lineup for the San Diego Chargers on Sunday. We break down the fantasy implications.

Fantasy Impact: Mathews delivered and then some for fantasy owners last week coming off the “bench”, rushing for 80 yards and a touchdown on 12 carries and catching six passes for 59 yards. The Chargers have a lot of confidence in him, meaning you should too if you own him in your fantasy league. Barring injury, Mathews should be a safe weekly RB1/RB2 option in standard leagues. Battle will still likely see touches, but not enough to significantly hurt Mathews’ value.
