Peyton Hillis ruled out for Sunday as fantasy value continues to sink

Peyton Hillis has been ruled out for a third straight week. We break down the fantasy implications.

Timothy T. Ludwig-US PRESSWIRE - Presswire

Kansas City Chiefs RB Peyton Hillis (ankle) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, reports Adam Teicher of the Kansas City Star. This will be Hillis' third straight game sitting out with a sprained ankle he suffered in Week 3. The Chiefs are eyeing Week 8 for his return (they have a Week 7 bye). Hillis has 93 yards on 21 carries for the season.

Fantasy Impact: No real surprise here. It's quickly looking like a lost season for Hillis, who was noticeably slower and more plodding before the injury. His days as a fantasy contributor are pretty much over. Shaun Draughn will continue serving as the primary backup to Jamaal Charles, who looks for another big week as the Chiefs double down on the running game.
