San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore had his touches limited in Week 6 against the New York Giants. The visiting G-Men got an early lead on the 49ers and forced them to play from behind. Gore was held to 8 carries on the day, accumulating 36 yards rushing.
Frank Gore forgotten by coaches, fantasy value limited
San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore had his touches limited in Week 6. We breakdown the fantasy implications.

The Niners tailback was averaging nearly 4.0 yards per attempt, but the Niners staff drifted away from that game plan. They allowed the Giants to dictate the pace of the game and that resulted in one of the 49ers’ best players becoming a non-factor.
Fantasy Analysis: Frank Gore has been solid so far in 2012, as a rusher and scoring threat. The 49ers have depended on him in this offense and he has come up big. When Gore has a good day, the entire team typically does. Getting No. 21 rolling on the ground is one of the more important things the Niners can do offensively.
The 49ers are learning they are not a “come-from-behind” team. When San Francisco can dictate the tempo of the game on the ground, Gore has sky-high fantasy value. The Niners have one of the best rushing attacks in the league and Gore spearheads it.
