Jordy Nelson catches 3 TDs Sunday, joining Aaron Rodgers in explosive fantasy performance

Jordy Nelson had nine receptions for 121 yards and three touchdowns during Sunday night’s game between the Green Bay Packers and the Houston Texans. We break down the fantasy implications.

Jordy Nelson had nine receptions for 121 yards and three touchdowns for the Green Bay Packers during Sunday night's game against the Houston Texans. Nelson was the biggest beneficiary of Aaron Rodgers' six-touchdown performance against what had been one of the league's best pass defenses.

Randall Cobb also had a big night, catching seven passes for 102 yards. James Jones had just three receptions for 33 yards, but two went for touchdowns. Nelson now has 32 receptions for 410 yards and four touchdowns on the season.

Fantasy Impact: If Rodgers continues his hot play of late, there is no reason Nelson shouldn't be in your fantasy starting lineup every week. Rodgers has now thrown 13 touchdowns in his last three games, and Nelson is by far his favorite target with Greg Jennings out.

Jones hasn’t hauled in as many receptions, but he has been absolute touchdown magnet, with two touchdowns in each of his last three games. He has also been a big beneficiary of Jennings’ injury, and deserves Flex consideration no matter the matchup going forward as long as Jennings is out.
