Alex Green churns out 65 yards rushing Sunday vs. Texans: Fantasy implications

Alex Green had 65 yards rushing on 22 carries during the Green Bay Packers' win over the Houston Texans on Sunday night. James Starks garnered just five carries for 11 yards during the game, mostly in mop-up duty.

Green was given the starting nod after Cedric Benson was placed on injured reserve with a Lisfranc foot injury. He now has 130 yards on 34 carries this season, for an average of 3.82 yards per carry. The second-year running back has yet to score a touchdown this season.

Fantasy Impact: If Sunday’s game is any indication, Green appears to be the Packers’ feature back going forward. While Starks is dealing with a toe injury, reports leading up to the game indicated that the running back was healthy enough to potentially start.

While Green was effective, he didn't appear capable of carrying the offense as Benson did at times early in the season. It'll be interesting to see what Green does if the passing game struggles. With Aaron Rodgers under center, however, we may never find out.
