NFL Opening Lines: Week 7 betting odds and trends

Underdogs went crazy in Week 6, finishing on a 12-2 ATS run and damaging bankrolls. But the Monday nighter saw lots of action on underdog Denver and their historic rally. Week 7 promises more underdog potential.

If you bet underdogs in Week 6, you are staring at your bankroll in disbelief at how much money you made.

Underdogs were 12-2 ATS on the week, a startling number after two weeks where online sportsbooks saw relatively even action.

“It started on Thursday with the Titans upsetting the Steelers and continued right through til Monday night where Peyton Manning rallied the Broncos past the Chargers as 1.5-point underdogs,” said Jack Randall of OddsShark.com (provider of odds to SBNation).

More than half of the week’s underdogs won outright, making winners of out of bettors who risked the moneyline instead of the point spread. The Bills, Lions, Packers, Broncos and Giants all won as road dogs and the Browns, Seahawks, Titans and Redskins turned the trick at home.

Dallas choked at Baltimore but still covered the spread. Two teams covered as chalk - the New York Jets and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The opening odds for Week 7 has San Francisco and New England - two big losers from Sunday - as the biggest chalk. Both have significant NFL betting trends pointing to victories in Week 7.
