Kevin Kolb injury: Cardinals QB out Week 7, likely longer

Kolb was knocked out of the Cardinals loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday and will be out for several weeks.

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb will not play on Sunday against the Minnesota Vikings and will be out for several weeks after having multiple ribs detached from his sternum and suffering a sprained sternoclavicular joint in his chest area in the Cardinals' loss to the Buffalo Bills on Sunday.

Kolb was hurt after being sacked for the sixth time in the game. He walked off the field on his own power but the damage had been done. He was replaced by backup John Skelton.

Skelton began the season as the starter but injured his ankle in the first game of the season, making way for Kolb to lead the Cardinals to their 4-0 start before losing their first game of the season last week.

The lack of protection by the offensive line of the Cardinals in past weeks has led to Kolb taking a lot of punishment in the pocket. He was sacked 23 times in the past three games alone.

Kolb left the game after going 14-of-26 with 128 yards, one touchdown and an interception.
