The Chicago Bears are 9-2 SU in their last 11 games against the Detroit Lions, and will look to improve on that mark when they host their division rival this Monday night at Soldier Field.

The computer predicts a Bears blowout of the Lions on Monday Night Football. A slight majority of the betting public was agreeing as of Friday.

Chicago was a 6.5-point home favorite on the Monday Night Football odds menu at most sportsbooks tracked by OddsShark.com.
In a wild 2012 season so far in which not many teams have looked elite, the Chicago Bears have been about as good as it gets. Off to a 4-1 SU and ATS start, the Bears have the league’s second best scoring offense averaging 29.8 points per game and the NFL’s best scoring defense allowing just 14.2 points per game.
And they taken care of business with the point spread as well, going 7-2 ATS in their past nine games in this week’s role as favorite.
For what it’s worth, the scores prediction computer at OddsShark.com has spit out a 39-22 final in favor of the Bears - more than enough to cover the spread.
With the exception of a terrible performance in Week 2 against Green Bay, Jay Cutler and the Chicago Bears have looked excellent all season long.
Detroit entered its bye week with an underwhelming 1-3 SU and 0-4 ATS record, but was able to pull off an outright upset on the road over the Philadelphia Eagles 26-23 last Sunday as a 3.5-point underdog.
Throwing out the wild 44-41 loss to Tennessee in Week 3, Detroit has been pretty consistently average on both offense and defense, averaging 21.2 points for and 23.2 points against in its other four games.
Chicago is 7-1 SU in its last eight games against Detroit and 6-1 SU in its last seven home games against Detroit. The Bears haven’t had a noticeable edge ATS though as the two teams have split the last eight games 4-4 ATS and Chicago is just 4-3 ATS in those seven home games.
With a 6.5-point spread, it is quite possible that this game ends up being another Chicago win and Detroit cover. But we have a hard time making a case for the Lions; Chicago entered its bye week in top form off of a 41-3 blowout win, is at home, and has had a bye week to prepare for a fairly one-dimensional offense with Detroit’s lack of a strong running game.
The Bears should be able to keep their strong season rolling with another big win.
