Cardinals vs. Vikings, Week 7: Adrian Peterson has big day in victory

The Minnesota Vikings improved to 5-2 with a 21-14 win over the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, thanks in part to a big day from running back Adrian Peterson. While the Vikings' offense managed just 209 total yards as a whole, Peterson accounted for 153 yards on the ground and scored a touchdown. After the game, Christopher Gates of SB Nation's Daily Norseman praised the running back's effort:

I would be crazy to not mention Adrian Peterson's performance in this one. Anyone that's still wondering if the man is back or not needs to look no further than his performance this afternoon. AD put up 22 carries for 153 yards (right around seven yards per carry), and found the end zone for the first time in five games. He's not human. Can't be.

Minnesota quarterback Christian Ponder was limited to 58 yards passing and threw two interceptions. The offense got some help from the defense, which accounted for seven sacks and also returned an interception for a touchdown. That defensive score ended up being the difference in the game for Minnesota.

Peterson now has 652 yards rushing on the season, with an average of 4.8 yards per carry. He has only found the end zone three times, but he is well on pace for another 1,000-yard rushing season.
