Similar to what occurred before the election four years ago, the respective campaigns of Barack Obama and Mitt Romney have requested to make appearances on ESPN’s “Monday Night Football” on the eve of this year’s election, according to John Ourand of Sports Business Journal.
Presidential campaigns expected to make Monday Night Football appearance on election eve
On the eve of this year’s election, Barack Obama and Mitt Romney are expected to appear on “Monday Night Football” during halftime.

Ourand notes that ESPN hasn’t made an official decision yet, but this would not be unprecedented for ESPN. Four years ago, taped interviews of President Obama and Sen. John McCain were broadcast during halftime of a “Monday Night Football” broadcast the day before that election.
Both candidates have also shown interest in appearing on ESPN’s “Mike and Mike” morning radio program, just as Obama and McCain did four years ago.
