Voting began on Tuesday for the 2013 NFL Pro Bowl, but the future of the game is still very much in doubt. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell has stated in the past that the game is “not up to NFL standards,” and very nearly killed the exhibition game off last year. The players reportedly wanted another chance to improve on the game, but it does not appear that the commissioner is willing to see many more lackluster games.
NFL Pro Bowl voting begins amid concerns about its future
Voting for the 2013 Pro Bowl is now open, but it’s possible this could be the last time the exhibition game is put on by the NFL.

The NFL has tried in recent years to shake up the Pro Bowl so more players would want to attend. Players frequently back out of the game to either rest injuries or avoid making the long trip to Hawaii. The NFL tried moving the game from Honolulu to Miami in 2010 and played it the week before the Super Bowl, but it did little to increase the quality of the game.
