Eli Manning lives for the comeback

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning admitted that he looks forward to the pressure moments in games.

New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning further cemented his status as a big-moment quarterback when he executed a quick-strike attack in the final minutes of Sunday's divisional win against the Washington Redskins.

After rookie standout Robert Griffin III connected with Santana Moss on a 30-yard touchdown, Manning was left with less than two minutes to attempt a comeback. Upon recognizing a favorable coverage on wide receiver Victor Cruz, Manning managed to one-up his opponent with a 70-yard touchdown completion that ultimately won the game.

In an interview with Mike Francesca of WFAN in New York, Manning admitted that he looked forward to these kinds of moments when the outcome of the game rests on his shoulders. Expressing his calm in the situation, the two-time Super Bowl champion understands what he needs to do with the game on the line, via SportsRadioInterviews.com:

“I get excited for those moments – it’s time to go win a game. And, you know, it comes down to this drive. This drive is going to be the last of the game. This is our opportunity. And that’s not the time to get nervous, it’s not the time to get scared to make a mistake. You’re trying to go win, it doesn’t matter if you make a mistake. Make a mistake, the game’s over. So it’s a time to be aggressive and go out there and give it your all.”

The Giants will return to action on Sunday when they travel to Dallas to face the Cowboys for the final time this season.
