DJ Williams finally got some good news on Wednesday. The Broncos LB, who has been suspended for the first nine games of the 2012 season, had his 30-day in-home detention for his second DWAI conviction delayed until Feb. 7, after the Super Bowl.
Broncos LB D.J. Williams sentenced for drunk driving incident
The Denver star will not serve his 30-day in-home detention until after the Super Bowl.

The original incident occurred in November 2010, when Williams refused a sobriety test after being stopped at 2 AM for driving without his headlights.
It was his second DWAI (driving while ability impaired) conviction in Denver since 2005. It was also his second-time running afoul of the NFL’s disciplinary rules this season, as Williams had previously been suspended for the first six games for submitting “non-human” urine during an NFL-sanctioned drug test.
Williams will be eligible to return to the field on Nov. 12. The 6’1 240 LB has been a key cog in the Denver defense since being drafted out of Miami in 2003, starting almost every game for eight seasons. He’ll be counted on to help a Broncos rush defense that has suffered without him, as Denver currently ranks 18th in the NFL in rush yards allowed in 2012.
