NFC North injury report: Chris Cook breaks arm, Louis Delmas aggravates knee injury

The Vikings, Lions and Packers all lost key defensive contributors in Week 8.

The Minnesota Vikings were crushed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday night, and they also lost starting cornerback Chris Cook for just about the rest of the season with a broken right arm. The Vikings placed Cook on injured reserve with the designation to return, though at this point in the season, he would only be eligible to come back for Week 17 and any potential playoff games.

The Detroit Lions also took a hit to their secondary when safety Louis Delmas left Sunday's game with an unknown injury to his left knee. Delmas missed the first four games of the season following arthroscopic surgery on the knee, and he exited Sunday's game in the third quarter after apparently aggravating it. After the game, Lions coach Jim Schwartz was unclear on what exactly happened to Delmas, but said that more would be known after Delmas was evaluated on Monday.

Packers rookie defensive tackle Jerel Worthy has been a contributing member of Green Bay's defensive line rotation this year, but he left the team's 24-15 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars with a concussion. Worthy was injured on the opening kick off of the second half and was taken to the locker room for additional testing. His status going forward is unknown.

The Chicago Bears, meanwhile, improved to 6-1 on the season with a comeback win over the Carolina Panthers and also escaped the game with no further injuries.
