Ben Tate injury: Texans RB ‘going to miss some time’

Coach Gary Kubiak says Houston Texans running back Ben Tate will miss time while recovering from a hamstring injury.

Bob Levey

Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said on Monday that running back Ben Tate is "going to miss some time" after suffering a hamstring injury. He injured the hamstring against the Baltimore Ravens on Oct. 21 and has not practiced since.

The Texans had a bye this week, and it appears that Justin Forsett will be starting running back Arian Foster's backup if Tate can't go this Sunday against the Buffalo Bills.

The hamstring pull is another injury in what has been an up-and-down season for the third-year running back. Tate went into that Oct. 21 game against Baltimore with a probable status because of a toe injury that caused him to miss a Week 5 game against the New York Jets.

Tate has 43 rushes for 178 yards and two touchdowns this year. Those numbers are far from his production in 2011, when Tate played in 15 games and rolled up 942 yards for Houston.
