The Detroit Lions will be sending a fifth-round pick in the 2014 NFL Draft back to Jacksonville in return for wide receiver Mike Thomas, according to CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora. Thomas has 13 receptions for 80 yards this season, and has had his playing time reduced in an already struggling Jaguars offense.
Mike Thomas trade is for 5th-round pick in 2014
The Detroit Lions will be sending a fifth-round draft pick in 2014 to the Jacksonville Jaguars, in exchange for wide receiver Mike Thomas.

SB Nation's Lions blog, Pride of Detroit, seems somewhat confused by the trade, as wide receiver depth is something the Lions already had with Titus Young and Ryan Broyles. However, despite his struggles, they seem hopeful that a change of scenery for Thomas will help get him back to producing regularly.
SB Nation’s Jaguars blog, Big Cat Country, is pretty happy to see the team get something in return for Thomas, who they seem to think was in danger of getting cut at the end of the season anyway. Thomas signed a five-year, $19 million contract with $9 million guaranteed last season, and has struggled to produce since.
