Dez Bryant denies plea deal in domestic assault case

The Dallas Cowboys receiver denies that a plea deal has been reached regarding the family violence case.

Dallas Cowboys receiver Dez Bryant has denied a report that he has reached a plea deal in regards to his misdemeanor family violence arrest in July, according to Clarence Hill of the Star-Telegram.

Bryant denied that a deal had been reached, with the receiver’s adviser David Wells also stating the report was untrue.

The Dallas County District Attorney also denied any progress in the case, stating all that happened was the case had been received from the DeSoto Police Department and was still under investigation.

Bryant was arrested after his mother filed chargers claiming the Cowboys receiver physically assaulted her in her home. She later publicly asked that the charges be dropped, stating during a press conference that she does not want the charges upheld against her son.

The Cowboys receiver had recently changed agents, dropping Drew Rosenhaus to return to his previous management from when he was originally drafted. Bryant has had several off-the-field issues since being drafted in 2010, although this was his first arrest.
