Dez Bryant could have charges dropped

The terms have been set for the dismissal of assault charges against Cowboys WR Dez Bryant.

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Dez Bryant's charges will be dropped if he meets court-ordered requirements, according to Cowboys beat writer Clarence Hill. Still, his case "will be reviewed under the personal conduct policy," per the NFL (via Hill).

Bryant is facing assault charges stemming from a July incident in which he allegedly hit his mother in the face and caused bruising and pain in her wrists, hands, arms and chest. Several days after the incident, Bryant turned himself into police and was booked into jail with a Class A misdemeanor.

The embattled wide receiver will have to complete a one-year anger management course and continue to stay out of trouble for the charges to go away. A curfew is not part of the requirements, says Hill.

Bryant has caught 45 passes for 590 yards and three touchdowns this season, including three catches for 87 yards and a score in the Cowboys' 38-23 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
