Cleveland Browns linebacker D'Qwell Jackson has left Sunday's game against the New York Giants with a head injury, according to the Akron Beacon Journal's Nate Ulrich. Rookie L.J. Fort has replaced Jackson in the lineup, and Jackson will not return.

Cleveland linebacker D’Qwell Jackson has left the game against the New York Giants with a head injury.

Jackson left the game with two minutes to play in the second quarter with what appeared to be a concussion. That came at a vulnerable time in the game: The Browns gave up a 17-7 lead thanks to a Brandon Weeden interception and a Josh Cribbs fumble soon after.
The Giants lead the Browns, 27-17, at the half.
Jackson is the Browns’ best defensive player and has missed a bit of time due to injuries in 2009 and 2010. In that span, Jackson missed 26 games with two torn pectoral muscle injuries.
So far this season, Cleveland’s defensive leader has 26 tackles, two interceptions and three sacks. The seven-year pro has 591 tackles in his career.
