Bears Vs. Jaguars Game Recap: Chicago crushes Jacksonville 41-3

The Bears may have started slow against the Jaguars, but 38 straight second half points and another dominant defensive effort turned the game into a laugher, with the Bears winning, 41-3.

The Chicago Bears were expected to handle the Jacksonville Jaguars fairly easily on Sunday. The Bears did just that, crushing the Jaguars, 41-3. The defense had its second consecutive week with two interceptions returned for touchdowns.

The game was close in the first half, with each team putting up just a field goal before halftime. The Bears would get things going in the second half, and as usual, their defense led the way. Leading 6-3 late in the third quarter, Blaine Gabbert badly under threw his receiver, and Charles Tillman took it back 36 yards for a touchdown. Observe:

Jay Cutler then went on to throw two touchdown passes to Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall to effectively put the game away, 27-3. The Bears weren't done, though, as Lance Briggs pulled in his own interception and returned it for a touchdown for the second straight week. Take a look:

Armando Allen added one last touchdown for the Bears to make it 41-3 with less than two minutes remaining. It was another brilliant performance by the Bears' defense, and another anemic offensive display by Jacksonville.

Fantasy studs or duds?

Brandon Marshall had a great day for the Bears, hauling in 12 catches for 144 yards and a touchdown. Matt Forte had over 100 yards rushing, as well. Jay Cutler was pretty good too, throwing for 292 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

Maurice Jones-Drew had a rough day running the ball. He ended with only 56 rushing yards, and caught only one pass.

Injury report

Alshon Jeffery left the game with a hand injury in the second half. It’s unclear whether he’ll miss any time.

Did they cover?

The Bears were favored by 6.5 points, so they covered the spread easily.
