Bears Vs. Jaguars, Week 5: Tale of two halves in Chicago victory

The Bears’ offense and defense fired on all cylinders in the second-half as Chicago crushed the Jacksonville Jaguars, 41-3.

The Chicago Bears used three takeaways and 38 second-half points to blow out the Jacksonville Jaguars Sunday, 41-3.

Chicago and Jacksonville were tied, 3-3, heading into the third quarter, but the score did not remain knotted for long. The Bears were scoreless for the first seven minutes of the quarter, then exploded for 38 points. As Steven Schweickert of SB Nation’s Chicago Bears blog, Windy City Gridiron, writes, Sunday’s game was a tale of two halves.

The Bears and Jaguars went into the half tied 3-3, behind two field goals and a shaky offensive performance.

The second half seemed like a whole different team hit the field.

The Bears added a pair of interceptions for touchdowns, Alshon Jeffery and Brandon Marshall both added fourth-quarter touchdown receptions, and even Armando Allen got in on the act as he added a rushing touchdown of his own to seal the Bears' 41-3 win over the Jaguars.

The two defensive touchdowns, one from Charles Tillman and one from Lance Briggs, led the way for Chicago as a seemingly close game suddenly became a drubbing. The win took the Chicago Bears to 4-1 on the season, keeping them atop the NFC North. They carry their win into a bye week in Week 6. Their next contest comes against the division rival Detroit Lions in Chicago on Oct. 22. The Lions are 1-3 and last place in the division.
