NFL betting trends: Week 11 handicapping angles and streaks

The Bears never win in San Francisco and the Jets never beat the Rams. Week 11 NFL trends offer one handicapping glimpse into what might happen for bettors this weekend.

Houston is the biggest favorite of Week 11, facing the biggest loser in Jacksonville and enjoying the biggest positive trends.

The Texans are 8-2 ATS lifetime at home against the struggling Jaguars and have won eight of nine games overall this season. They are also 8-2 ATS in their past 10 games as double-digit chalk and 8-1 ATS in their past nine games within the division.

So with all the trends pointing at Houston, do you still back them as 17-point favorites on the Week 11 odds menu?

“They were getting 60 percent of the early betting action even laying that many points,” said Jeff Grant of SportsbookReview.com.

Green Bay has won 12 of the last 13 games against Detroit and are getting the lion’s share of early betting action as 3-point road underdogs.

New York Jets have never performed well against the Rams, going 1-7 SU and ATS since 1985. They have also limped to a 1-10 SU mark in their past 11 games as an underdog as they visit St. Louis.

Cleveland gets a bunch of points at Dallas, but they have lost 11 straight on the road. However, as an underdog of 8 or more points, they are 9-3 ATS in their past dozen games in this situation.

And the Ravens have dominated their division lately as they head for Pittsburgh on the Sunday Night NBC game. It was just announced via OddsShark’s Twitter guru that Ben Roethlisberger will not play, which will impact the line.

They are 10-0 SU within the AFC North and a money-making 7-2-1 ATS in those games.

And in the Monday nighter, the Bears bring a backup quarterback to San Francisco, where they have lost seven straight (and never covered a spread) since the 1980s.

However, there are numerous positive trends for both teams as Monday Night combatants.

Monday Night Football Betting Trends:
49ers 7-0 SU & ATS at home vs Bears since 1987
Chicago is 6-1 SU in its last 7 games
Bears 7-2-1 ATS past 10 Monday Nighters
49ers 7-1-1 ATS past 9 Monday Nighters
