New Cleveland Browns CEO Joe Banner is not going to waste any time in making decisions regarding the future of general manager Tom Heckert and head coach Pat Shurmur once the season ends.
Browns want to make decisions GM, head coach quickly
New Cleveland Browns CEO Joe Banner said decisions on general manager Tom Heckert and coach Pat Shurmur will be made as soon as the season ends.

In an interview with ESPN Cleveland’s Tony Grossi, Banner said he and new owner Jimmy Haslam hope to make a decision on Heckert and Shurmur right at the end of the season. “We’d like to get to the point where everybody here knows how we’re going forward as quickly as we can,” Banner said.
Heckert and Shurmur are still being evaluated by Banner, who has been the CEO in Cleveland since Oct. 25. Banner was appointed the new CEO when Jimmy Haslam officially bought the Browns on Oct. 16 and is now in control of the franchise.
Banner previously worked with both Heckert and Shurmur while with the Philadelphia Eagles, but said he needs to become familiar with how they perform in their current roles before making a decision on their future. The Cleveland Browns are 2-7 and take on the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
