The Steelers are reeling from Ben Roethlisberger's injury, and are now relying on Byron Leftwich to help fill the void. Leftwich last started an NFL game in 2009, when Big Ben was last injured, and while he may be better than most teams' stop-gap solutions, he isn't a good answer long term; Pittsburgh is hoping its franchise QB will recover quickly enough to keep it in striking distance.
Baltimore, on the other hand, has already become accustomed to injury after losing Ray Lewis to injured reserve a month ago. Given the league's new rules on IR, the Ravens' middle linebacker could return, but for now he remains an on-bench motivator. Last week a 55-20 victory over the Oakland Raiders represented John Harbaugh's team flexing its muscles. Now they hope to assert their will over the Steelers.
