Michael Vick injury: Eagles QB improving, but still not cleared

Nick Foles will replace Vick again if he’s not cleared.

Michael Vick is improving but still hasn’t been cleared, according to SB Nation’s Bleeding Green Nation. Eagles coach Andy Reid did say on Monday that Vick would be the starter when he’s healthy again, but the Eagles QB remains in the early stages of his recovery from a concussion. Vick was out in the Eagles loss to the Redskins on Sunday, replaced by Nick Foles.

Vick was forced to leave the Eagles' Week 10 loss to the Dallas Cowboys in the second quarter when he took a hard hit to the head.

Rookie quarterback Nick Foles replaced Vick and made the start on Sunday against Washington. In his first NFL start, Foles completed 21-of-46 passing attempts for 204 yards. He was also intercepted twice.

Vick has passed for 2,165 yards and 11 touchdowns this season when healthy. His job as starting quarterback before the injury had been called into question by some as he struggled with ball security, throwing nine interceptions and fumbling 10 times.

The 3-7 Eagles will have an extra day to make a decision on Vick, since they next play on Monday, Nov. 26, at home against the Carolina Panthers.
