DeMarco Murray injury: Cowboys tailback out again

The Cowboys running back will miss yet another game with a foot injury.

Ronald Martinez

Dallas Cowboys' running back DeMarco Murray will be out for another week with a foot injury, according to Todd Archer of ESPN Dallas. The Cowboys play the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday Night Football on NBC.

Murray has not played since the Week 6 loss against Baltimore on Oct. 14, when the second-year back rushed for 93 yards on 14 carries. The Cowboys have used the running back tandem of Felix Jones and Phillip Tanner to fill in during Murray's absence, but have struggled with him out.

The Cowboys currently sit at No. 28 in the league in rushing yards, averaging just 86 yards per game on 24 attempts. The team's average of just 3.6 yards per carry this season is also second-to-last in the NFL, just ahead of the Arizona Cardinals.

Before his injury, Murray had rushed for 330 yards on 75 attempts and one touchdown for an average of 4.4 yards per carry. Murray enjoyed a strong rookie season in 2011 as well, rushing for 897 yards and two touchdowns before a fractured ankle put him our for the rest of the season.
